Pierce is an optimist by nature, always working to see the good in people. His friendliness and helpfullness makes him seem naive, but he is aware that not everyone and everything is inherently good, even though he wouldn't like to believe it. As a result of longing for interpersonal relationships as a child, he developed a "class-clown" sort of persona to make himself more approachable and its stuck with him. Though, he does have the ability to be serious and more realistic when needed, and even has an intrusive cynical side that he tries to stave off. While he is generally open and extroverted, he often only offers up surface level information about himself disguied as more to prevent people from worrying about him and talking about tough topics. He's emotionally intelligent and would rather help his friends with their emotional burdens than deal with his own.

Early Life

Had a normal childhood, but was orphaned at the age of 14 after a car accident that killed his parents and younger sister.

Present

He gets attached to people easily due to being orphaned at a young age. He cares deeply for the people in his life, especially Charles, who he later develops a romantic relationship with. Despite Charles' past and his current occupation, Pierce learns to accept him and not judge him by the extenuating circumstances that got him there. Gaia is also another close friend of his that helped him during his childhood.

Pierce's complete heterochromia.

Height, weight, build and body type: Pierce is 5'9" (175 cm) and generally weighs around 160 pounds (72.5 kg). At his baseline, and for most of the story he has an slim to average body type with not much muscle definition with exception to his arms as he does not regularly exercise. Later on in the story, Charles does make Pierce exercise and participate in strength and defensive training due to his own concerns about Pierce's safety and ability to protect himself. As a result, Pierce does at some point develop a more muscular physique at around 175 pounds (79 kg), but ultimately does not maintain this for long term.
Athleticism and stamina: During his high school years, starting out from 9th grade, Pierce played junior varsity and varsity volleyball, trying out for different positions and eventually settling into the front row in the opposite hitter position. He worked diligently to build his stamina for the position, but always had limitations to what he could do realistically due to his childhood knee injury. Eventually Pierce re-injured his knee during his junior year of high school, sitting him out for the rest of the year and causing him to be unable to opposite hitter efficiently. During his final year of high school he tried out for setter and libero, but was not the best fit for either position, so he served as a substitute player which kept him somewhat actively training. In college, due to semi persistent knee problems, Pierce did not go on to join the collegiate volleyball team, but did occasionally play recreational volleyball with a local group and continues to do so on certain occasions, maintaining some level of agility.
Scarring, deformities, moles, birthmarks: Pierce has a 2 cm scar on the lateral aspect of his right eyebrow, as well as a 15 cm vertical surgical scar on his knee from surgical repair of a knee injury, both acquired from a car accident he was in at the age of 14. At times, he may also have scrapes or small cuts on his hands from his job. Later in life, due to a physical assault perpetrated by an unknown assailant, he also gains a diagonal laceration to the left side of his neck, one stab wound to his left shoulder and two to the middle abdominal area, in addition to generalized defensive wounds to his hands and lower arms, and a broken ring finger on his left hand (that he loses some mobility in). Some of the scars involved were more hypertrophic in nature due to the type of weapon that caused them.
Piercings, tattoos, body modifications: Pierce has labret lip piercing in which he wears either a silver stud, or most commonly a silver ring. On each ear he has two lower lobe piercings and two upper helix piercings, in all of which he wears either silver or black studs and/or hoops. He sometimes chooses to forgo wearing jewelry in certain piercing sites or wears clear jewelry for occasions. In addition to that, Pierce has a Frenum penile piercing that he got during his college years as a dare that he ended up keeping. All but the first set of lobe piercings were acquired after Pierce moved out of his aunt and uncle's home as they were not fans of body modifications due to religious purposes. When Pierce is older, he opts out of wearing most of his piercings, save for his labret (to which he only wears a small stud), one set of lobe piercings and one helix piercing in his left ear
Hairstyles: Pierce has naturally brown hair that he often dyes blonde. His hair is usually in various stages of out growth, ranging from freshly dyed blonde, to allowing his roots to grow out, to cutting all of his dyed hair off and wearing out his natural color in a short crop. When he takes care of his hair and lets it grow out, it has somewhat of a natural wave to it, akin to type 2b/c hair, which is more apparent when he stops dyeing his hair. When he's older, he stops dyeing his hair and styles it in a more mature fashion and sometimes allows his hair to grow out to his shoulders before cutting it again.
